I might have a partner...

So, my daughter is 12 now....13 next summer and she is reading almost the same stuff as me. Right now, in fact, she is reading the "House of Night" series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. She is flying right through them. She just started book 3 a bit ago and she only just started the series on Friday, I believe.

When Mia reads, she reads. She is very commited to the book she is reading. And if it is a series she has to have the next book, NOW....Mia is either really into a book or she's not...and if she's not then she doesn't finish the book. That is just how she is. She has the same mentality as I do when it comes to that. There are too many good books out there to waste your time on one that you don't like or can't get into.

Anyway, I was talking to her and mentioned that maybe she should do some reviews on the books she reads since those books my readers would be interested in. I think it would be nice to hear the thoughts of a pre-teen too.

She said she would think about it. She started to do some reviews on my YT channel last year and also on here when I first started it, but she didn't stay interested.

Well, that is it for now. Hopefully Mia will be joining me...

I loved this book! I can't even tell you in detail what it was that I loved, but I just loved it...
After I read the first 100 pages, I posted on Goodreads that there wasn't any drama or action, and there wasn't. But it seemed that after that things started happening.

This book was about a senior named Daniel who was the star athlete, academic, popular kid-just all around shining star-and it is also about a senior named Misty, who is the complete opposite. She doesn't care about much and is about to give up on everything.

Then Misty meets Daniel and things start to change for her. The only problem is is that Daniel is dating Angie and he is leaving for college after graduation.

These obstacles seem to be put on the back burner for awhile though (except for the Angie thing because Daniel breaks up with her to be with Misty). Daniel refrains from telling Misty about college because he doesn't want her to think he isn't worth her time.

When Misty starts to trust Daniel she decides to introduce him into the pack, which consists on her twin brother and their two best friends. But the pack is more then just the four of them. It is also a ritual that they do prior to turning into werewolves!

Of course this freaks Daniel out at first, but the more he thinks about it and thinks about Misty, the more he is open to this whole thing. He actually looks forward to it because it is the time that he can actually be himself and not have to worry about anything or anyone else. But not everything that the pact does is innocent and people start to get hurt.

People are physically hurt, betrayed, heartbroken...there is abunch of typical teenage angst, a lot of ego issues and people being put in their place.

This books covers family, friends, love, anger, forgiveness, growing up, etc.
The characters in this book were great and the character developement of both Misty and Daniel was spectacular. I loved watching them grow.

Even without the werewolves this book would have been great! But the werewolves gave it a different spin.

If you haven't read this book you really must! This is the first book I have read by him, but I am absolutely going to check out another one of his.

OK, I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY because it wasn't about what I thought it was going to be about. It was still a very good book!

This book is about a woman (single mom, lawyer) Danielle, who has an autistic teenage son, Max. Danielle has been a very devoted mother to Max, trying to find something to help him. Taking him to different doctors and trying different medicines to make him more comfortable. Because as Max gets older he starts to experience more mood swings and it is harder for him to control himself.

Danielle does some research and finds Maitland Psychiatric Hospital. Maitland has high reviews and Danielle is hoping to take Max there to just get an evaluation of him. But what was supposed to be an easy week or two stay, turns out to be a long nightmare!

During the first week of Max's stay he gets into several altercations with another patient, Jonas. Danielle is shocked by this behavior and when the doctors try to talk to her about it and Max's diagnosis, she flips out. She can't believe what they are saying and refuses to listen to them. She demands to remove her son immediately from their facility and seek a second opinion, but the staff is expecting this and have already obtained a restraining order to prevent Danielle removing Max, let alone having any contact with him. They say this is for his own safety and others.

What follows after this is pretty tragic and shocking. Max is accused of murdering Jonas, the other patient and Danielle is arrested for aiding and abetting. As the hearing for whether or not Danielle's bond should be revoked or not until the court date (she is out on bond with an ankle monitor) takes place Danielle is out seeking evidence to clear Max's name.

What she discovers is purely shocking and outrageous! And to know that there are really people out there like this is just sickening!
