HOLDUP by Terri Fields

Holdup Holdup by Terri Fields

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(from Goodreads)

DANGER: ROBBERY IN PROGRESS Police are uncertain how many hostages are being held.
It’s an ordinary Saturday night for the teens working at Burger Heaven—until, suddenly, guns are drawn and threats made. Jordan’s just working here part-time, after school, but she’s suddenly put in charge when the manager has to leave. Joe has never even gotten so much as an after-school detention. So how is it that this Saturday night, he’s at Burger Heaven, waving a loaded gun, yelling at the employees to get down on the floor NOW! Dylan has always succeeded at his twisted plans—until this Saturday, this robbery, where everything has gone wrong. And now, surrounded by police outside, Dylan’s life will never be the same—and neither will the lives of his hostages.

I can't really put a star rating on this...it was a quick read but intersting at the same time. I would definitely say that it is something to check out, but nothing spectacular...

This story is told in the viewpoints of 9 different characters, but although there are so many differnt characters it doesn't get confusing.

The book is also split up into 3/4 different sections....before the holdup, the planning of the holdup and during the holdup...then 1yr later.

Before the holdup you meet the different characters and they each get a chapter. The chapters though are only a few pages long which is kind of nice.

Then during the holdup each character only gets a paragraph and you keep getting bounced from one persons thoughts to another. Once again, this isn't confusing, but rather interesting I think.

This book is about, obviously, a holdup. Two teenagers holdup a burger joint but things don't go exactly as planned. One of the teenagers doesn't realize what he has gotten himself into until it is too late.

This book is also about decisions. We make just over 600 decisions a day and this book is about how just 1 of those decisions can alter ours lives forever.

So although not a great book, still interesting enough to pick up and read....
